The Timsgarry Byre is located in Uig on the Isle of Lewis. You can travel to Lewis by plane from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness, or Benbecula, or by ferry from Ullapool or Uig on the Isle of Skye.
Timsgarry is a 50 minute drive from Stornoway.
From Stornoway take the A859 south to Leurbost or if travelling up from Harris take the A859 north to Leurbost. At Leurbost take the A858 to Gearraidh na h-Aibhne/Garynahine – then turn left onto the B8011 to Uig. Approx. 20min, passing through the village of Miavaig, you will drive through the narrow gorge of Bhaltos Glen. Once through the glen, when you see Uig sands and the rugged Uig hills, after around a quarter mile take the second right hand turning signposted Timsgarry and Baille na Cille.
If you reach the Uig shop, you’ve gone too far and will need to turn around and take the first turn left.
Timsgarry Byre is next to the road on the RHS after around 1km.
